STILL WATCHING

Freshly ensconced in bivy, looking vacantly at the night sky... Thoughts directed at the opposite pole of the night.

For the Morning Star has returned in the Eastern sky… Heralding the rebirth of Quetzalcoatl in his guise as Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli, Lord of the House of Dawn. With unmatched intensity his stellar darts have been hurling in the dark of dawn. Darts of light on the horizon, darts of dawn.

It's a different sort of light that redirects my attention to the here and now. It is orange in color, so not a star but a would-be planet... Before i begin to wonder which, it grows much larger, peaks in brightness, and quickly recedes to a pinpoint which then departs from its stationary position, travels for a short distance at medium speed, and vanishes.

That had been a while: two decades ago, during a period characterized by visionary intensity and emotional catharsis (corresponding to the early developmental phase of the Mandala project) several instances of extra-terrestrial contact had occurred, ranging from the small and startling to the overwhelming and life-altering.

What was witnessed tonight is not much, but it is something... Something that seems to be saying: “we’re still watching”.
